Overview

Birth of Venus is a self-initiated interactive website built around Sandro Botticelli’s iconic Renaissance painting. Inspired by old History of Art notes from my undergraduate design studies, the project explores how educational content, visual storytelling, and front-end interaction can make a classic artwork feel more accessible and engaging online.

Interactive Art Education

Built a web experience that helps users explore the historical and artistic meaning behind Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.

Parallax Experimentation

Used parallax effects to create movement, depth, and a more engaging way to experience the artwork.

Annotation-Based Learning

Structured the site around interpretation and annotations so visitors can understand the painting beyond the surface image.

Responsive Front-End Build

Developed the project with React and Sass, with attention to layout, typography, and usability across screen sizes.
